The KOREA International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) will provide US$7 million in grant aid to build a Cambodia-Korea Incubating Centre (CKIC) in Cambodia, according to Deputy Country Director of KOICA in Cambodia Ms Weon Jihye.

Expected to start construction in early 2020, the project will be built on the 1600 square meter facility at the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP). CKIC will feature several meeting rooms, a seminar room for incubator companies, an event room, parking lot and a cafeteria as a meeting place. The project will be completed at the end of 2020.

“This project will be equipped with the international equipment that can help Cambodia entrepreneurs to study and practice. “We will teach RUPP staff to work on this project and help to handle this project for 5 years only, after which they will be the experts on this major as professors in CKICs in international business sector and we will hand it to RUPP staff to work on it,” she added.

The project can be changed because it still in the process of planning and the calls for tenders from international construction companies to work on this project are now open, as the focus is on having an international standard building.
