Cambodia & Thailand Urge Opening of Four More Border Crossings

Cambodian and Thai authorities have urged the opening of four more crossings borders, according to a meeting between the Pursat and Trat provincial administrations on 09 June 2022.

The meeting was chaired by Mr Pov Piseth, Deputy Governor of Pursat Province and the Thai side was chaired by Mr Kan Chhay Thep Vorak Chhay and Mr Na Rong Thepsena, Deputy Governor of Trat Province, as well as relevant officials of both countries.

Through this discussion, the two sides are speeding up the opening of four more border checkpoints, including:

  1. An Ses checkpoint, Preah Vihear province, in front of An Ses checkpoint, Ubon Ratchathani province.
  2. Thmor Da checkpoint, Pursat province, in front of Ban Tha Sen checkpoint. Trat province.
  3. Phnom Dey checkpoint, Battambang province, in front of Ban Khao Din checkpoint, Sa Kaeo province.
  4. Chob Koki checkpoint, Oddar Meanchey province, in front of Saytakou checkpoint, Borey Rom province.

On 23-25 August 2017, Samdech Sar Kheng, Minister of the Ministry of Interior of Cambodia, and General Anupong Pao Chenda, Minister of the Ministry of Interior of Thailand, agreed to implement the standard level of these four borders to become the international borders crossings. (Read more)
