Cambodia-China Sign MOU to Strengthen Human Resource Capacity on Railway Construction Technical Skills

Techo Sen Institute of Public Works and Transport, Beijing Jiao Tong University (BJTU), and Beijing Urban Construction Group have signed a Tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen human resources capacity in joint construction, joint research, and technical training on railway construction skills.

Speaking at the signing ceremony on 12 May 2022, HE Wasim Sorya, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, said that the agreement was to ensure the quality of education in line with market demand. These techniques are a huge benefit for students in expanding job opportunities, skills, and knowledge more widely.

HE Hoeun Samneang, Director of Techo Sen Institute of Public Works and Transport, also said that this agreement will help train Cambodian students to have clear skills to solve the current crisis of a lack of technical experts and develop sustainable skills transfer. It will also help generate a responsible spirit in the field of public works and transportation for the future.

Huang Taiyan, a representative of the Chinese side, said that BJTU looks forward to working with the Institute of Public Works and Beijing Urban Construction Group to strengthen human resources in construction, joint research, and railway technical training.

Following the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding, China also reaffirmed its commitment to provide training in civil engineering, electrical engineering, economics, and management in the future with the university planning to welcome outstanding Cambodian students from Techo Sen Institute of Public Works and Transport to study at BJTU.
