Cambodia-Japan Friendship Bridge to Chroy Chongvar to Open on 3 April

After two years of renovation, the Cambodia-Japan Friendship Bridge in Chroy Changva is set to open in April, according to the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT).

Aimed at reducing traffic congestion around the Chroy Changva area where traffic can often be very heavy during the upcoming Khmer New Year, the opening ceremony is set for 3 April which will be presided over by Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen.

The renovation project, which cost around US$33 million, was undertaken with the full support from the Japanese government through its development agency Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The timeline for the whole project has been 22 months. (Read more)
