Century Entertainment Hopes to Open Large Koh Kong Casino by late April After Delays

Hong Kong-based casino operator Century Entertainment International Holdings Ltd hopes to open its casino at a new venue in Dara Sakor district in Koh Kong province by late April after delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, reported IAG.

According to the initial plan, the casino was set to open start operations by February after finishing the relocation procedure from Sihanoukville. However, due to the recent surge in the COVID-19 community outbreak, the opening date was postponed to March, and then to late April.

The firm stated the necessary decoration and equipment installation have been completed at the new gambling tables. However, the exact opening date remains uncertain due to the current COVID-19 community outbreak in Cambodia.

“It is believed that the [lockdown] would not last for too long…, the new casino will strive for re-opening on or before late April 2021,” read the firm’s statement.

Century Entertainment’s casino was originally located at the Sunshine Bay Hotel in Sihanoukville. However, the firm decided to move to the Long Bay project in Dara Sakor after the previous contract expired in September last year. (Read more)

The new lease agreement was made between the firm and Long Bay Entertainment for 15 years, from 01 October 2020 to 30 September 2035.
