Chinese Firm Helps Strengthen Safety on NR5

Jiangsu Guoqiang Galvanization Industrial Company (JSGQ) has begun supplying road safety products on about 80km section of the NR5 construction, which is scheduled for completion in July 2021, according to a recent report in PRNewswire.

The supply began since mid-January, the same source stated. The project is a part of the China-Cambodia Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), and includes building the highway guardrail, part of which adopts the international standard of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, AASHTO M180 STANDARD.

“JSGQ is one of China’s top 500 private enterprises and China’s top 100 shipping companies,” JSGQ Founder and Chairman Yuan Guoqiang told PRNewswire.

“We have been supplying traffic safety products and will ensure the highest quality and safety for those projects,” he added.

As of September, the overall completion of the NR5 renovation project is almost 50% complete.

The northern part from Battambang to Serey Sophoan (84.74 km) is 79.05% complete and scheduled for completion in July 2021

The central section from Thla Ma Om to Battambang (146.04 km) is 30.48% completed and scheduled for completion in April 2022

The southern part from Prek Kdam in Kandal province to Thla Ma Om in Pursat province (135.24 km) is 19.44% completed and scheduled for completion in August 2022 (Read more)
