In September 2020, China Railway International Group Co., Ltd unveiled three designs for the project. Likewise, JICA also came up with a plan. However, due to the high cost of construction, the government will continue to study further.

Meanwhile, the Vietnamese also plan to construct an expressway from Ho Chi Minh City to Bavet. According to VN Express, the construction of this US$587-million route is scheduled to begin in 2023 and set for completion in 2025. (Read more)
