Five major road projects to start construction before Khmer New Year

The Ministry of Public Works and Transpiration is going to start the construction of five more major road projects before the Khmer New Year in 2023.

H.E. Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister of Public Works and Transport, said on February 15, 2023, that the accelerating projects include Street 23, 312, 73, 733, and 733A.

The first road project is Road 23 connecting Leuk Dek commune to Leuk Dek district, Kandal province, with the fund from Asian Development Bank (ADB). The study of this project was completed in October 2022. This main road will make it easier and cut travelling for people who wish to travel to Neak Leung.  (Read more)

The second road project is Road 312 with a length of approximately 28.5 km, which connects National Road 1 to the Banteay Chakrei Cambodia-Vietnam border.

Furthermore, there are Road 73 connecting Tbong Khmum to Kratie province with a distance of 50 km and investment of USD$15.7 million under a World Bank loan, road 357 from Preap Sar roundabout in Kratie town to Sambo district, and Road 377A from Sandan roundabout to National Road 7.  (Read more)

The Senior Minister emphasized that Ministry had promised Samdech Techo Hun Sen, that the construction site would be opened before the Khmer New Year, so the Ministry would have to work hard to make the groundbreaking was completed as promised.
