Gov’t Approves Seven Investment Projects Worth Over US$60 million

The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has officially approved private firms to invest in building six factories, and an aquaculture centre, worth a total budget of US$60 million in Takeo, Pursat, Svay Rieng, Kandal, Preah Sihanouk and Phnom Penh.

The first investment permit has been granted to Yuan Shuo (Cambodia) Co., Ltd to invest US$2.2 million in building a factory to assemble electronic equipment in Tram Kak district in Takeo province.

The second is Schneitic Chint Co., Ltd., which will invest US$2.5 million to build an electrical equipment factory in Krakor district in Kampong Speu province.

The third is Khema Global Co., Ltd, which will invest US$2.9 million to build a garment factory in Sen Sok district in Phnom Penh.

Meanwhile, Green Sustainable Ventures (Cambodia) Co., Ltd received a permit to build a US$17.6-million 20MW solar power plant in Svay Teab district in Svay Rieng province.

CDC also approved First Aquatic Industrial Co., Ltd to build a US$25.2-million aquaculture farm in Kandal Stueng district in Kandal province.

Another investment permit has been granted to Innomed Healthcare Products (Cambodia) Co., Ltd with the firm investing US$10 million to build a factory producing medical garment and medical equipment in Sihanoukville.

The last permit was granted to Huiquanfeng Technology (Cambodia) Co., Ltd with the firm investing US$7 million to build a bicycle factory in Tai Seng Bavet Special Economic Zone.

According to the CDC, these seven investment projects will create over 2,638 jobs for Cambodians.

As of mid-March 2021, CDC has already approved at least 22 major projects, including the above projects with total investment capital of more than US$760 million. (Read more)
