HLH signs MoU with SG manufacturing association; officially launches Cambodia’s largest Argi-hub

Hong Lai Huat (HLH) Group officially launched Cambodia’s largest Agricultural Hub (Agri-Hub) and signed MOU with Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) to attract more Singaporean investors into Cambodia.

The MOU will allow HLH to tap into SMF’s network of about 5,000 corporate members from various industry groups to set up operations within Agri-Hub. SMF’s corporate companies will also be able to benefit from HLH’s established network with local authorities to accelerate their business expansion in Cambodia through their operations within Agri-Hub.

SMF is Singapore’s largest national organization representing the interests of manufacturing and manufacturing-related industries. Its corporate members, comprises SMEs, MNCs and affiliate members, from various industry groups including Food & Beverage, Energy, and Chemicals, Electrical and Electronics, Engineering and Manufacturing, Building Products and Construction Materials, Lifestyle, Life Sciences, Medical Technology, Packaging, Smart Automation.

Agri-Hub has a total land size of about 100,000,000 sqm and is strategically situated between Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville. With its proximity to National Road 3, 4, 41, 44 and 51, Agri-Hub offers easy accessibility for businesses in surrounding cities to the Agri-hub for all business functions and trade.

Agri-Hub is envisioned to be a unique opportunity for potential businesses to tap into the growing development in Cambodia’s agriculture sector, benefiting from the developing infrastructure and upcoming food trading hub in Cambodia which targets at offering  “One Stop Shop” solutions and facilities to business partners in Cambodia and surrounding countries.

Agri-Hub will be developed in 3 phases with a good portion of the hub to be reserved for open space, green area, water reservoir and road circulation, transforming it to become a leading Eco-City in Cambodia. Agri-Hub also aims at importing the latest developments and agriculture technologies and skillsets into the Kingdom of Cambodia through new collaborations with global businesses to provide more employment opportunities to the communities.

Besides the mining joint venture agreement with HSC Group announced in October 2021, the Group is currently in discussion with several other key players in the region for the development of Agri Hub. The Group expects the development of the Agriculture Hub to add alternative revenue sources for the Group and will set out the roadmap for the future growth of the Group’s property and real estate division in Cambodia.
