GGEAR Group Launches KHIND Fans to Combat Gray Market and Bring International Cooling Standards to Cambodia

Leading Electronics Distributor Partners with Malaysian Heritage Brand to Address $27 Million Market Demand, Offering Quality, Safety, and Nationwide Service

Phnom Penh, December 12, 2025 – GGEAR Group, a leading electronics company in Cambodia, officially launched the Malaysian-made “KHIND fans” into the Cambodian market today following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The grand ceremony took place in the morning at the Raffles Hotel Le Royal, with high-profile attendees including Ms. Nur Herzazzila Ghazali, Chargé d’Affaires of the Malaysian Embassy to Cambodia; Oknha Sok Piseth, CEO of GGEAR Group; and Mr. Adil Jimmy Mistry, CEO of KHIND Malaysia.

The vision of bringing fans to international standards

Oknha Sok Piseth highlighted that the fan import market in Cambodia was valued at over $27.25 million in 2023, underscoring the high and essential demand for cooling appliances among the Cambodian population.

Addressing market issues and risks of evading taxes

However, Mr. Hu Hap, Business Executive of GGEAR Group, noted a significant challenge, stating that while the fan market is large, approximately 80% of fans sold lack a proper warranty. He stressed that the risks associated with tax evasion and frequent product transshipment often result in a high likelihood of breakage, leaving sellers and customers struggling with broken fan poles and difficulty finding spare parts.

GGEAR Group is positioning KHIND as the optimal solution because it is imported legitimately, supported by a wide distribution network, and backed by 14 service centers nationwide, which provides high customer confidence. Looking ahead, GGEAR’s vision for future products is guided by two main conditions: 1. Quality for customer benefit, and 2. Competitive pricing against smuggled goods to ensure smooth business operations.

Malaysian standard quality and high safety

KHIND CEO Adil Jimmy Mistry confirmed that KHIND has built its reputation since 1961 and that the fans are specifically engineered for hot climates, focusing on safety and durability. The Chargé d’Affaires of the Malaysian Embassy, Ms. Nur Herzazzila Ghazali, shared that KHIND is a “Malaysian heritage” that has been a part of Malaysian daily life for decades.

Products and services

In the initial launch phase, GGEAR Group is introducing 4 models of KHIND fans, including 16-inch and 18-inch table and stand fans. A key feature of these models is the fitting of a 100% Copper Motor, which ensures extreme durability. To provide customer confidence, the company offers the following:

  • Warranty: 1 year on spare parts.
  • Service: Preparation to stock essential spare parts such as motors and fan blades to ensure quick repairs.

Mr. Hu Hap also revealed a future plan to establish a fan assembly factory directly in Cambodia if the product receives strong consumer support. GGEAR Group, established in 2011, is a leading legal distributor for major electronics brands, committed to the vision of “Growing Together”.
