Japan-Cambodia Association Set to Boost SMEs with New Phnom Penh Headquarters

In a pivotal move to fortify economic ties and promote small and medium enterprises (SMEs), the Japan-Cambodia Association (JCA) unveils plans to inaugurate its office in Phnom Penh. His Excellency Takahashi Fumiaki, President of JCA, confirmed this strategic initiative during a meeting with His Excellency Sar Sokha, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Interior on the afternoon of 22 November 2023.

HE Takahashi Fumiaki emphasised that the JCA office, set to materialise in 2024, aims to serve as a central hub, fostering seamless communication between Japanese SMEs and their investment counterparts in Cambodia. The establishment of this office reflects JCA’s commitment to facilitating collaboration and encouraging Japanese SMEs, equipped with cutting-edge technology, to invest significantly in Cambodia. This collaborative effort aligns with the ongoing initiatives of relevant ministries and institutions.

JCA is actively engaged in recruiting and motivating Japanese SMEs with advanced technology to amplify their investments in Cambodia. The initiative seeks to catalyse more investments, particularly in sectors such as agriculture, tourism, and cosmetics.

During the meeting, HE Sar Sokha expressed full support for the JCA project to establish its office in Phnom Penh. He extended gratitude to Japanese investors for expressing keen interest in contributing to Cambodia’s growth, emphasising their involvement in key sectors pivotal to the nation’s development.
