Japan Provides Over US$500K to Improve Health Centres in Takeo & Kampong Cham

The Government of Japan has agreed to provide a total of US$ 506,595 for the renovation of the Rehabilitation Centre in Takeo Province and the construction of a maternity and neonatal care facility at Kampong Cham Provincial Referral Hospital. 

The donation agreement signing ceremony was held on 8 December under the presidency  of Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Japan to Cambodia Taninai Ichitomo and representatives of aid agencies of the two provinces. 

US$160,000 will be used to build an apartment building in the rehabilitation centre in Takeo province and to buy more equipment for the centre. 

Meanwhile, another US$340,000 will be used to build a three-storey building for maternity and neonatal care at Kampong Cham Provincial Referral Hospital. 

This grant is under the Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects. Recently, under this scheme, US$350,000 were approved for the construction of kindergartens, bridges, and irrigation rehabilitation projects in four provinces. (Read more and more)
