JICA to commence Siem Reap smart city project phase 2 in April 2022

The second phase of the Siem Reap Smart City project is set to begin implementation by April next year after the study of the masterplan is finished, according to the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)

JICA, Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), Siem Reap Provincial Administration hosted a joint meeting on 27 December to discuss the progress of the project.

JICA Representative Asuka Suboike said that the draft roadmap master of the project has reached the final stage and is set for completion in March, while the project itself will be implemented in April 2022.

Siem Reap Governor HE Tea Seiha expressed his appreciation for the efforts of JICA and MLIT, which always focus on promoting Siem Reap to be a smart city.
