Kep Authorities Plan to Develop Two New Public Beach Resorts

The Coastal Development Committee is currently studying locations and planning to develop two new public beach resorts in Kep province, according to a meeting of the Kep Provincial Administration on Tuesday 08 June.

The two locations that the committee is considering are a natural beach in Thmey Village, Sangkat Prey Thom in Kep City; and another natural beach in Ang Koul village, Ang Kol commune in Damnak Chang Eur district.

According to the plan, both areas will be transformed into attractive tourist destinations, with large parks, bike lanes, and pedestrian walkways, among other infrastructure.

The Kep Provincial Administration requested the relevant working groups to accelerate the study and cooperate with the inter-ministerial committee to make this project proceed as soon as possible.

Governor of Kep Som Piseth said that the objective of these public beach resorts is to change the face of Kep province into a luxury holiday destination for both local and foreign tourists.

He added the development in Kep province is still ongoing despite the COVI-19 pandemic.
