Large-Scale Medical Waste Incinerator for Five Province in Angk Snuol Officially Inaugurated

A large-scale medical waste incinerator for five provinces built by Bun Leang Lee Global Co., Ltd. in Ang Snoul district, Kandal province has been officially inaugurated.

HE Lt. Gen. Hun Manet, Deputy Commander of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and Commander of the Army presided over the inauguration on 10 June 2022.

Administration Director of Ang Snoul District, Mr Sin Sovy said this incinerator can not only treat hazardous waste from the hospitals in Kandal province, but also from other five other provinces, including Takeo, Prey Veng, Kampong Speu, Svay Rieng, and Kampong Chhang provinces.

“The incinerator that has been installed and inaugurated now is very important and has responded to the evolution of technology, population growth, the need to use all kinds of products, some of its products will be a waste containing radioactive chemicals that will seriously affect the environment and human health,” said Kandal Provincial Governor Kong Sophorn during the ceremony.

In addition, he fully supported the establishment of medical waste incinerator for the collection, management, and treatment of hazardous wastes in order to reduce or eliminate the impact of diseases such as human, animal, and plant diseases due to hazardous waste containing those chemicals.

To date, Bun Leang Lee Global Co., Ltd in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment has constructed and installed incinerators and equipped cars, and motorbikes with equipment in Kampot, Steung Treng, Tbong Khmum, and Banteay Meanchey provinces. (Read more)

In the next two years from 2023 onwards, the company plans to invest in constructing and installing incinerators for all 24 provinces in Cambodia.
