MPWT Conducts Final Quality Check on NR3 Before Handing Over & Opening to Public

The technical team of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) has conducted a final check on the construction of NR3 from Chom Chao to downtown Kampot before it is handed over and opening for public use.

Secretary of State of MPWT HE Kan Manae said during the inspection yesterday that the final check is to ensure high quality and technical standards.

After the inspection, HE Kan Manae also instructed the construction company to correct and fix some loopholes before the Ministry accept the road.

The renovation of NR3 has a total length of 134km, of which a 69km section from Chom Chao to Bek Kous has been built as a four-lane road, and another 65km section from Bek Kous to Kampot town was constructed as two lanes with asphalt concrete (AC).

The project is being implemented under a total fund of US$219 million, a concessional loan from the People’s Republic of China, and the Cambodian government budget. (Read more)

Remark that the project of enlargement and improvement of National Road 3 has been broken ground since 7 May 2018 preside of by Samdech PM Hun Sen. (Read more)
