NR No. 33, connecting Kampot to Chrak Lok, is on the cusp of completion, with an impressive 98.89% of the project finalized as of early November 2024.

This achievement was highlighted in an official inspection conducted on 6 November 2024 by HE Pal Chandara, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, who was joined by technical representatives from China Bridge and Road Corporation (CRBC) and Guangzhou Wang An Technical Consulting Co., Ltd.

The inspection reviewed both construction progress and adherence to technical standards, ensuring the project’s alignment with quality requirements for durability and user safety.

During the site visit, the Secretary of State stressed the importance of maintaining meticulous quality control, especially during the rainy season, and called for thorough attention to road safety measures, including installing necessary safety equipment and clear road signage. Furthermore, he urged the team to strictly follow technical specifications for road mapping and marker placement to enhance transportation efficiency and ensure safe travel for all users.

The rehabilitation of NR No. 33, a key 52.57-kilometre route, links NR No. 3 in Kampot province (starting at km 148 + 100) to the Cambodia-Vietnam border at Lok, passing through the districts of Teuk Chhou and Kampong Trach in Kampot and Kep city and Damnak Chang Eur district in Kep province.
