New Mix-used Development Breaks Ground in Sihanoukville

Monday 5 March: H.E. Hun Manet presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for Jing Kan Hotel, being built by the Tang Kung Group in Sihanoukville.

Located on Otres beach, the Jing Nan Hotel is one part of a mixed development project by the Tang Kung Group with an investment value of USD25 million The whole project consists of 4 buildings including a hotel, commercial offices and residential buildings which all are built on a total of more than 32,000 square metres of land nearby the beach.

The hotels will consist of 452 rooms while the residential buildings consist of 156 units. At this stage, the commercial building has been completed and the whole project is expected to finish construction and open for service in next 8 months.

“Sihanoukville is a prime location as so far it has attracted a lot of tourists both local and international. We see the great potential and that is why we decided to invest here” said Mr Tang Kung, CEO of Tang Kung Group.

“This hotel can respond to the increasingly high demand of tourists in Sihanoukville at the moment and also in the upcoming future,” he added.

According to H.E. Hun Manet, more than 200 construction projects have appeared in Sihanuokville over the past three years and worth billions of US dollars, with investments predicted to grow especially from China.

“The investment in Sihanoukville is good, but we have to be very careful and have to do it with proper planning and strategy. We do not just develop in the short term, but we want to sustainably develop and do it long term” said H.E Hun Manet.
