Siem Reap’s New International Airport Nears Completion with 92% Project Progress

The new Siem Reap International Airport, located in Tayek commune, Sot Nikum district, is in its final stages of completion, with 92% of the construction project already accomplished as of 31 March 2023. A working group from the General Department of Construction of the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction inspected the site on 4 April 2023, confirming the project’s progress.

According to the team, the construction of the new airport is slated to be finished by 31 July 2023, ahead of its mid-year trial operation and official launch in October this year. This new airport is expected to ease the traffic load of the existing Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport, located about 51 km from Siem Reap city and around 40 km from Angkor Wat temple.
