New Tourism Port Set for Kep Province

The Kep provincial administration has recently allowed a private company to build another tourism port in the city to facilitate the travel of tourists and fishermen.

The project agreement was signed on Tuesday 3 August between Kep Governor HE Som Piseth and the company representative.

Named Se Sar (White Horse) port, the port project has reached the construction agreement after studying the impacts for over a year.

“The port is a new target for the development of tourism in the west of Kep province, connecting to a new beach in two communes of Prey Thom and O’Krasar in the province,” said HE Som Piseth.

“Besides, the project will provide many benefits and job opportunities for local people who are dependent on fishing and tourism services. This will eventually help reduce poverty in the province as well,” he added.

The construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2023.

This project is a different project to the Koh Tonsay tourism port which to date has been over 75% completed. (Read more)
