No travel ban from one district to another, the government’s resolution statement

On April 10, 202, the government issued a new decision stating that there is no travel ban from one district to another in the same province and that Phnom Penh and Kandal are considered one same region through which people can travel.

Please note that this decision is an amendment to Order 02B.B issued on the night of April 9, 2020, banning domestic travel from Phnom Penh to the provinces or travelling from Province to the province with the goal of preventing the spread of the COVID 19 disease.

In Resolution No. 39, dated April 10, 2020, which contained the highest signature of the Prime Minister, the Government determined the following:

1) Geographies of Phnom Penh and Kandal province are considered to be one same area not subject to cross-border travel restrictions.

2) Revoke the travel ban from one district to another in the same province by retaining the travel ban from one province to another.

Making this decision, the Royal Government takes into account the geographical situation and the practical needs of the general people in fulfilling their work duty and businesses and their daily communication.

Noted that the issuance of the nationwide travel ban was made after Samdech Techo Hun Sen, via a voicemail with his deep concerns of the people’s welfare on April 9, 2020. Samdech Techo Hun Sen has also announced the suspension of Khmer New Year celebrations calling for public servants and workers to continue their normal works to prevent the spread of the COVID 19.
