NR6 Section from Royal Residence to Siem Reap Airport Roundabout to be Expanded to 6 Lanes

The National Road 6 section in Siem Reap province from the Royal Residence roundabout to the airport roundabout will be expanded to six lanes to facilitate better traffic flow, according to Minister of Public Works and Transport HE Sun Chanthol during an NR6 inspection on 15 November.

HE Sun Chanthol said that the expansion has a total length of 6km with a 3-metre sidewalk on each side.

“The current road medians will be torn down to expand the roads to 6 lanes, with a new 2-metre median, and 3-metre sidewalks on each side,” he added.

Funded by a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the construction of the project will begin soon and is expected to be completed within a year.

The minister also added that the section from the airport roundabout to Kralanh district has already been paved with AC. Meanwhile, from Kralanh district to Serei Sophorn city, the ministry has already signed a paving agreement with a construction company.
