OCIC Chairman Inspects New Airport Site Every 6 Months to Speed Up Construction

The OCIC Chairman Neak Oknha Pung Kheav Se will continue to inspect the new Phnom Penh airport construction site at least once every 6 months to encourage the working team and speed up construction.

The latest visit was on 30 September, which was a co-inspection between Neak Oknha Pung Kheav Se and the Minister of the Secretariat of Civil Aviation HE Mao Havannal.

Neak Oknha Pung said that under the guidance of the government, the construction would go well as planned despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

As of April, construction had been 30% completed and the first phase is set to be online by 2023. (Read more)

The new Phnom Penh International Airport is a mega-development project in Cambodia, located on an area of 2,600 hectares in Prek Khiev commune, Kandal Stung district, Kandal province. The project is an investment by the Overseas Cambodia Investment Company (OCIC), worth approximately US$1.5 billion, and is divided into three phases. (Read more)

On 22 June 2020, Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen conducted an official inspection of the construction of the new project and confirmed that progress on construction is going smoothly despite the COVID-19 pandemic. (Read more)
