OCIC to Invest Over US$600 million in Infrastructure Development Next Year

The Overseas Cambodia Investment Corporation (OCIC) has invested approximately US$300 million to develop many massive projects this year, as the firm also plans to invest at least US$600 million more in 2021.

OCIC’s chairman Neak Oknha Pung Kheav Se told Construction & Property Magazine on 19 December that the firm has invested around US$70 million in the Koh Norea project and another US$200 million for the New Phnom Penh International Airport in 2020.

“Meanwhile, for 2021, we plan to invest at least US$600 million more including US$100 million for the Koh Norea project and around US$500 million for the airport,” he added.

As of October, the Koh Norea development project is more than 30% complete, while the firm has just broken ground on the construction for two major bridges, including Koh Pich-Koh Norea bridge and Koh Norea-NR1 bridge. (Read more and more)

On the other hand, construction on the New Phnom Penh International Airport is also going smoothly despite the pandemic and recent flooding. The Ministry of Public Works and Transport is planning to build a railway connecting Phnom Penh city centre to the airport, while the OCIC is also planning to build an expressway connecting from Phnom Penh to the airport.
