Philippines Set to Invest in Cambodia’s Hospitality Sector with Two Major Hotel Developments

A Philippine real estate company has unveiled plans to construct two of the largest hotels in Cambodia, aiming to enhance the country’s hospitality landscape in key cities—Sihanoukville and Phnom Penh. This strategic investment was reported by trendrod.wordpress on August 23, 2025.

Hotel101 Global Holdings Corp., through its Singapore-based subsidiary Hotel101 Global Pte Ltd., has entered into a formal agreement with Canopy Sands Development Co., a prominent property developer in Cambodia. This collaboration marks a significant step in Hotel101’s goal of expanding its presence to 100 countries with its renowned hotel model.

The ambitious projects will see the development of two Hotel101 properties in prime locations. The first hotel is set to rise in Tonle Bassac Sangkat, Phnom Penh, an area known for its commercial vibrancy and cultural richness, with close proximity to essential landmarks such as AEON Mall and the Independence Monument. This hotel will feature approximately 700 rooms, including the innovative “Happy Rooms” designed with fully equipped kitchens. Guests can look forward to an array of amenities, including a swimming pool, gym, all-day dining options, a business center, function rooms, and commercial spaces.

The second Hotel101 project will be strategically located in Sihanoukville, near the International Convention and Exhibition Center and just minutes away from Cambodia’s third-largest airport. This hotel is planned to have around 680 rooms, making it the largest in the province.

Once operational, Hotel101 anticipates that the two hotels will generate an impressive revenue of approximately $109.55 million (around PHP 6.3 billion), which is expected to foster economic growth through job creation and increased foreign investment in Cambodia’s real estate and tourism sectors.

Cambodia’s tourism industry is already thriving, with 6.7 million international visitors recorded in 2024. With the impending opening of the new Techo International Airport on September 9, 2025, this number is predicted to rise significantly, further boosting the country’s appeal as a travel destination.

With these developments, Hotel101 Global is eager to solidify its footprint in the hospitality sector, having already expanded its operations to Niseko, Japan; Madrid, Spain; and Los Angeles, USA, along with a Hotel101 affiliate in the Philippines. The projects in Cambodia are expected to be completed by 2028, significantly contributing to the local economy and the broader growth of the tourism sector.
