PP-SR Expressway Runs Through 5 Cities-Provinces while the feasibility study will end in May

The Cambodian government is moving forward with the Phnom Penh-Siem Reap Expressway project, which will connect the two cities by crossing five provinces, according to a feasibility study set to be completed by the end of May.

Senior Minister of Public Works and Transport, HE Sun Chanthol, recently confirmed the progress of the project, stating that a meeting was held on April 25, 2023, to discuss technical information for the project.

“The Phnom Penh-Siem Reap Expressway project is being studied and is scheduled to be completed by the end of May,” he said.

The proposed expressway will span approximately 272km and cross through the cities and provinces of Phnom Penh, Kandal, Kompong Cham, Kompong Thom, and Siem Reap. This new infrastructure will significantly improve travel time and provide greater connectivity to these areas.

The government has also requested the cooperation of provincial governors to fast-track the feasibility study of the new expressway. This project follows the construction of the country’s second expressway, the Phnom Penh-Bavet Expressway, which is set to begin construction on June 7, 2023. (Read more)
