Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway Takes Another Step Toward Completion

Paving on the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway is set to begin soon, while the whole project at this stage is approximately 40% complete.

According to the official Facebook page of the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway, on 02 March, the team has just completed the asphalt paving (ATB-25) on the sample section. Soon, the engineers will start the overall paving process, which marks another step of completion.

The same source added that the COVID-19 crisis did not affect the project construction process, and by the end of 2020, the construction had reached about 39.98% completion.

The construction project of the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway began on March 22, 2019. This 190-kilometre road is being built by Cambodian PPSHV Expressway Co., Ltd. under the budget of a US$2-billion Chinese loan and will take 48 months to complete.
