The Phnom Penh Water Supply Authority plans to submit a proposal for a water treatment plant with a capacity of 30,000 cubic meters per day, located in the area of Techo International Airport in Kandal Province to South Korea.

The project was mentioned by HE Long Naro, Director General of Phnom Penh Water Supply Authority in a press conference at the Government Spokesperson Unit on 09 June.

The clean water project, which is under the cooperation between the Royal Government of Cambodia and the Government of the Republic of Korea, will be submitted to a meeting at the Ministry of Economy and Finance on 13 June with the participation of the South Korean side and the Phnom Penh Water Supply Authority, he said.

“The Phnom Penh Water Supply Authority will participate in the meeting to provide clean water located in the area of the new airport with a production capacity of about 30,000 cubic metres per day to supply the new airport area in Kandal province,” he said.

The PPWSA has recently submitted another new water treatment plant project in Arey Ksat to the Korean side, stated HE Long Naro.

To meet the demand for clean water in Takhmao City, the PPWSA has been preparing to expand the water treatment plant with a capacity of 30,000 cubic metres per day on the old location of the water treatment plant in Takhmao City with support from the Japanese government.
