Sihanoukville Autonomous Port Sees Striking Growth in 2024 Revenues

In a year of remarkable achievements, the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port has emerged as a standout performer in Cambodia’s logistics sector, with projected earnings exceeding USD 110 million in 2024. According to a recent report from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, this impressive financial leap marks a growth of over 24% compared to last year.

The port, which is listed on the Cambodia Securities Exchange, revealed that it earned a staggering 452,578 million Riels (approximately USD 110.38 million) this year, up from last year’s 364,641 million Riels (around USD 88.94 million). Such growth has solidified Sihanoukville’s position as a vital hub for import and export activities in the region.

But the success doesn’t stop there. Sihanoukville Autonomous Port also recorded an impressive freight volume, handling 9,608,171 tons in 2024—an increase of 21.67% from 7,893,156 tons in 2023. These figures underscore the port’s growing role in supporting Cambodia’s bustling trade landscape.

Moreover, the Phnom Penh Autonomous Port (PPAP) is riding the wave of this success, achieving a notable milestone in 2024 by handling 480,200 TEUs (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units) and generating USD 41 million in revenue—a healthy increase of 21% from the previous year.

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport additionally reported a total collection of 2,281 million Riels from water, sea, and port transportation services, further illustrating the significance of these ports in the nation’s economic framework.

As Cambodia continues to expand its trade capabilities, Sihanoukville Autonomous Port stands at the forefront, driving growth and setting new benchmarks for success in the logistics industry.
