Takeo Province to Invest Over USD 2 Million in New Temple Project

In a move aimed at enhancing cultural heritage and boosting tourism, provincial authorities have announced plans to invest more than USD 2 million in the construction of a new temple located in the heart of Lake Takeo. The initiative was disclosed at a meeting led by HE Wei Samnang, Governor of Takeo Province.

Governor Wei emphasised that the funding for the temple would not come from the national budget; instead, it will rely on contributions from both domestic and international donors. The temple is envisioned not only as a place of worship but also as a landmark to attract visitors and enrich the local community.

In addition to the temple project, provincial authorities are set to develop a new ring road around Lake Takeo, complete with parks and greenery on both sides. This road will extend over 10 kilometres, providing residents with a scenic space for exercise, cycling, and relaxation after work.

Governor Wei expressed confidence that these projects will significantly transform Daun Keo city, the administrative centre of Takeo province. He believes that enhancing the area’s appeal will draw more residents as well as national and international tourists, ultimately contributing to improved living standards for the community.

With these initiatives, Takeo province aims to blend tradition with modernity, creating a vibrant environment for all.
