Renovation of NR33 to Begin Soon  

The renovation of NR33 connecting Kampot to Chrak Lok will begin soon, while the Ministry of Public Works and Transport has already completed the design plan.

Speaking during the inspection of NR33 on 25 October, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport HE Pal Chandara said that the technical team had already inspected NR33 and was ready to begin their work.

“During the inspection, we found some challenges, but we already discussed the remedies to those issues,” said HE Pal Chandara.

At the same time, HE Pal Chandara also urged the construction firm CRBC, to temporarily fix the severely-damaged parts before the actual renovation start to ease the travel of the locals.

Renovation of NR33 will be implemented on a 52.57km section, from NR3 (km 148 + 100) to the Vietnamese border.

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) has previously confirmed that a preliminary study for the NR33 upgrade project is scheduled to take a total of 24 months to complete, under funds from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport and China.
