Progress Update: NR No. 31 Rehabilitation Connecting Bek Kus to Kampong Trach Nears 80% Completion

The rehabilitation and enhancement of NR No. 31, spanning over 53 kilometres from Bek Kus to Kampong Trach district, has achieved an impressive milestone, nearing completion at almost 80%. As of 25 April 2024, the project has reached 78.43% completion, well on track to meet the stringent quality standards outlined in the contract. This progress was confirmed by HE Khan Maner, Secretary of State and Director of the NR 31 Rehabilitation and Upgrading Project, during an update on 5 May 2024.

HE Khan Maner emphasised the project’s accelerated pace, highlighting the likelihood of completion one year ahead of schedule while maintaining the highest technical standards. With the overall project advancement standing at 78.43% by 25 April 2024, the timeline remains promising for early delivery, ensuring optimal road quality.

Furthermore, the project management anticipates wrapping up all essential tasks by the end of June 2024, including the installation of safety equipment and the preparation for the project’s provisional handover by August 2024. This efficient timeline underscores the commitment to timely delivery without compromising on quality.

Current efforts on the construction front include clearing operations beneath the bridge near Banteay Meas Market at km 35 + 750, alongside the installation of drainage systems along the road, extending to the entrance of Wat Sre Nong. Additionally, the construction team is focused on adding guardrails to safeguard sewer boxes along the route.

The project, initiated to rehabilitate and enhance the quality of NR No. 31 covering a total distance of 53.53km, commenced construction activities on 30 December 2022. With remarkable progress achieved thus far, the project stands as a testament to effective infrastructure development and underscores the government’s commitment to improving transportation networks for enhanced connectivity and economic growth.
