Transport Minister: Chroy Chongvar–Svay Chrom Bridge Still Under Study, No Timeline Revealed

The Minister of Public Works and Transport HE Sun Chanthol has confirmed that the Chroy Chongvar–Svay Chrom bridge is still undergoing a feasibility study though the South Korean government has been already agreed to provide financial support for this project.

HE Sun Chanthol said during the PP-SHV expressway site inspection on 21 June that at this moment, there is no concrete plan yet as the Korean side is still studying the project.

“We still haven’t decided what kind of bridge we are going to build and how much it will cost. Details will be disclosed after the study is complete. Once completed, we will proceed to the bidding procedure,” said HE Sun Chanthol.

However, the minister did not provide any specific timeline as to when the study is expected to be completed.

On the same day, HE Sun Chanthol also confirmed that the study of the Kratie-Kampong Thom bridge is complete, while construction is scheduled to start soon after Prime Minister Hun Sen officially approves the project. (Read more)
