US$1.5m Koh Kong tourist port set to be opened by end of March 2023

The construction US$1.5 million rebuilt tourist seaport in Koh Kong province is scheduled to be completed by the end of March 2023.

“The provincial administration has been building a tourist port in Khemarak Phoumin, which may be completed by the end of March,” said Koh Kong Provincial Governor Mithona Phuthong on 21 February.

The port was built to handle tourist boats and freighters from Vietnam, Thailand, and elsewhere in Cambodia and ship out agricultural goods from northwestern provinces such as Battambang, Pailin, Pursat, Banteay Meanchey, and Oddar Meanchey.

The port is a medium-sized multi-purpose seaport with a 115m by 16.5m size. With an investment of US$1.5 million from the government, the construction of this port began in May 2021.
