US$95 million cement plant to be built in Battambang soon

The Board of Investment of Cambodia of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has decided to issue a registration certificate to a private company to build a large cement factory under an investment of US$95 million in Battambang province. This is according to the publication of the CDC on June 19, 2023.

The project to build the factory is invested by DONGFANG JUNMA CEMENT CO., LTD under an investment of US$95 million, located in Phcheav village, Treng commune, Rattanak Mondul district, Battambang province and can create 979 jobs.

It should be noted that Cambodia currently has six cement factories, five of which are operating nationwide, with a total production capacity of about 9 million tons per year. The sixth factory in Kampong Speu province is scheduled to open soon and has a production capacity of 2 million tons of cement per year. (Read more)

The five existing cement factories are Chip Mong Inc. Cement Corporation, Kampot Cement Company, Chakrei Ting Cement Company, Battambang Consignment Cement Company and Thai Boonrong Cement Company Limited.
