Work on Land Dispute Resettlement for New Phnom Penh International Airport 43% Complete

Land disputes affecting the construction of the new US$1.5-billion Phnom Penh International Airport in Kandal province have so far been settled with 43% of local residents, according to a recent report by the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction (MLMUPC).

Since the beginning of settlement process until December 2020, the total issues settled cover more than 1,100 hectares, or equivalent to 43.75% of the total construction area of over 2,600 hectares.

MLMUPC has also periodically inspected the disputed sites and has prepared 150 sale and purchase contracts, waiting for landowners to sign.

The new Phnom Penh International Airport is being developed by the Overseas Cambodia Investment Corporation (OCIC) and is scheduled to complete the first phase in 2023. (Read more)

According to the latest figures obtained in April 2020, the construction was about 30% complete. However, to date, OCIC has not revealed any new figures on progress.(Read more)

The new Phnom Penh International Airport is being developed by the Overseas Cambodia Investment Corporation (OCIC) and is scheduled to be completed its first phase in 2023.
