Europe Commits to Enhancing Connectivity with Direct Flights to Cambodia

In a significant move to boost tourism, the European Union in Cambodia has announced its commitment to encouraging major European airlines to consider establishing direct flights to Cambodia. This initiative aims to attract a growing number of European tourists to the Kingdom.

The announcement came during a meeting between H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, and H.E. Igor Driesmans, Ambassador of the European Union to Cambodia. The discussions centered on deepening cooperation within the tourism sector and exploring joint eco-tourism projects that benefit local communities.

“Harnessing the potential of eco-tourism will not only enhance the travel experience but also provide sustainable opportunities for the local population,” Minister Huot Hak stated. The meeting also highlighted the importance of building human resources within the tourism sector to ensure long-term growth and sustainability.

In addition to promoting Cambodia’s rich cultural and natural heritage, both parties underscored the necessity of direct flights as a means to increase accessibility and convenience for European travelers. Efforts will be made to showcase Cambodia’s tourism potential extensively across Europe.

The increasing flow of tourists from the European Union to Cambodia is a testament to the strengthening ties between the region and the Kingdom. As more international visitors discover Cambodia’s offerings, the country is positioning itself as a safe and attractive destination for travelers and businesses alike.

With this collaborative effort, Cambodia aims to further elevate its status as a vibrant and secure tourism hotspot, fostering economic growth through enhanced international cooperation.
