Meeting of Digital Government Committee to Explore Key Initiatives

Phnom Penh, December 24, 2025 – In a significant gathering at the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, His Excellency Chea Vandeth, Minister of Post and Telecommunications and Chairman of the Digital Government Committee (DGC), presided over the 8th session of the DGC, featuring robust discussions on pivotal digital initiatives aimed at enhancing governance and public service delivery in Cambodia.

The meeting drew approximately 110 participants, including committee vice-chairmen, key members, and civil servants from various government ministries and institutions, creating a collaborative environment focused on technological advancement for public service.

Among the critical agendas reviewed was the implementation progress of the VERIFY.GOV.KH platform, a flagship initiative designed to streamline digital services across government entities. Participants assessed the current status and explored pathways for broader adoption in collaboration with partner countries, aiming to enhance transparency and efficiency in governmental operations.

In addition to the VERIFY.GOV.KH platform, the DGC also examined the Draft Data Governance Policy, which outlines frameworks for the responsible use and management of data across public sectors. This policy is expected to bolster citizens’ trust in government systems while ensuring data protection and privacy.

Another significant initiative discussed was the Draft Cloud First Policy. This strategic direction advocates for the adoption of cloud computing solutions within government operations, aiming to reduce costs, improve accessibility, and foster innovation. The committee recognized the importance of leveraging cloud technology to modernize public services and increase operational efficiency.

Lastly, the committee reviewed the Draft National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, a forward-looking initiative poised to position Cambodia at the forefront of AI integration in governance. This strategy will pave the way for the development of AI-driven solutions to address various societal challenges and enhance decision-making processes within the government.

Minister Chea Vandeth emphasized the importance of these initiatives during his opening remarks, highlighting the committee’s role in steering Cambodia towards a more digital and interconnected future. The meeting underscored the government’s commitment to creating an inclusive digital ecosystem that benefits all citizens.

As discussions progress, the DGC remains focused on fostering synergy across government sectors, ensuring that technological advancements translate into tangible improvements in public service delivery.

Recently, the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction has also incorporated verify.gov.kh into the new model title deed (read more). Other ministries and institutions are also incorporating it to enable more efficient and faster document verification for public service (read more).
