Four mining sites across nation to open for exploration

Four mining sites in Cambodia will be opened for companies to explore, according to a letter published by the Ministry of Mines and Energy on 22 November.

The ministry has called local and international firms to apply for a mining license in Stung Treng, Battambang, Kratie and Kampong Thom which stretch over a total of 216.77 square kilometres.

These mining areas includes 1) the 49.25-square-kilometre sites located in Prek Keng Kang area, Tha Labrivat district Stung Treng province, 2) the 32-square-kilometre site in Tha Labrivat district, Stung Treng province, 3) the 41.58- square-kilometre site in Phnom Proek district, Battambang province and 4) the 93.94-square-kilometre site located in Kampong Cham commune, Sambor district, Kratie province, and Sopheameankrithy commune, Sandan district, Kampong Thom province.

Via this letter any firm can apply for the license and complete all requirements before submitting it to the Ministry of Mines and Energy by no later than 31 January 2020.
