France Provides €500K Grant for Feasibility Study of Bak Kheng Water Supply Phase 3

The French Ministry of Economy has granted around Euro 500,000 to the Phnom Penh Water Supply Authority for the feasibility study of the third phase of the Bak Kheng water supply project.  

This grant was confirmed during the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement on 9 March with the participation of HE Long Naro, Director General of Municipal Water Supply Authority, the French Ambassador to Cambodia, HE Chairman of the Board of Directors of PPWSA, Mrs. President of the French Agency for Development in Cambodia and Representative of SUEZ Consulting. 

HE Long Naro stated that the third phase of the Bak Kheng water supply project is set to begin in late 2023, with construction anticipated to start between 2024 and 2025. After completion, the project is expected to have the capacity to supply about 195 thousand meters of clean water per day. 

The Bak Kheng water supply project is divided into three phases, with the first phase scheduled for completion in Q2 2023 and the second phase in Q1 2024. The third phase is anticipated to meet the growing demand for clean water in Phnom Penh, contributing to the city’s sustainable development.  (Read more)
