PM Orders to Move Two District Halls to Newly-Developed Areas

Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen has asked authorities to relocate two district halls in the Apsara area, where construction was banned, to the new development areas in Preak Snaeng and Run Ta Ek.

Speaking at a get-together with almost 2,000 families in the Run Ta Ek development area of Banteay Srei district, PM Hun Sen instructed the authorities to move the Banteay Srei district hall to the Run Ta Ek, while the Angkor Thom district hall will be moved Peak Snaeng.

The old sites of the two district halls are in areas protected by the APSARA Authority and new construction is prohibited.

“Banteay Srei District Hall, which is located in Area 1, has to be relocated to Run Ta Ek village, so the people in Run Ta Ek village will have everything.,” he said.

“For the district of Angkor Thom, which is in the same area, it also has to move to the new location in Peak Snaeng,” he added.

PM Hun Sen also ordered the preparation of suitable land for the construction of the new city halls.
