Gov’t Approves Six New Investment Projects Worth Over US$100 million

The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has recently approved private firms to invest in building six factories, worth a total budget of approximately US$106.3 million in Kandal, Takeo, Kampong Speu and Preah Sihanouk provinces.

The first investment permit has been granted to Yiankang Biological Technology Co., Ltd to invest US$2.9 million in building a food processing factory in Tumnob Rolok commune, Stueng Hav district, Sihanoukville.

The second is Ocean Treasure Dyeing & Printing Co., Ltd, which will invest US$3.1 million to build a laundry, dyeing and printing factory in Preah Nipean commune, Kong Pisei district, Kompong Speu province.

The third is Lesso (Cambodia) Trading Co., Ltd, which will invest US$9.4 million to build a factory to produce all kind of PVC pipe fittings in Chhak Chheu Neang commune, Ang Snuol district, Kandal province.

The fourth is Santelys Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd, which will invest US$12.5 million in building a pharmaceutical factory in Sanlung commune, Khsach Kandal district, Kandal province.

Another investment permit has been granted to Kuantech (Cambodia) International Co., Ltd with the firm investing US$29.7 million to build a factory to assemble and install electronic parts and air purifiers in Popel commune, Tram Kak district, Takeo province.

The last permit was granted to Jin Bei Palace Co., Ltd with the firm investing approximately US$48.7 million to build a 195-room five-star hotel in Sangkat 4, Sihanoukville.

These six aforementioned investment projects will create over 1,852 jobs for Cambodians, according to the CDC.

From the beginning of 2021 to early May, the CDC has already approved at least 38 major projects, including the above projects, with total investment capital of over US$2.1 billion. (Read more)
