Gov’t Approves US$20-million SHV’s Third Large-Scale Water Treatment Station

The Cambodian government has officially approved the construction of a third large-scale water treatment station project in Sihanoukville, which is expected to cost approximately US$20 million obtained from the national budget for tourism development.

The approval was revealed in the press release of The National Committee for Coastal Management and Development (NCCMD) published on Friday 13 August.

According to the plan, after the site inspection and study, this third station will be constructed in Village 4, Sangkat 4 in Sihanoukville City. Upon completion, the station will have the capacity to treat up to 20,000 cubic metres of wastewater per day.

To date, Sihanoukville already has two large-scale water treatment stations. As of July, the construction of the first one is 98% complete, while the second one is 100% complete. (Read more)
