Govt’ Mull Organizing New Street Food Zone in Sihanoukville

The Sihanouk provincial hall is planning to set up a new standardized street food zone in the province, of which the old theatre garden in Sangkat 2 might be chosen to be the spot.

Speaking at the meeting on January 20, 2021, Sihanoukville Governor HE Kuoch Chamroeun said that this standardized street food service will be able to attract more tourists and also be a safe place for everyone to eat.

“Those vendors in the zone are required to follow the food service standards that are clearly defined to ensure quality, safety and reasonable prices,” said HE Chamroeun.

In the past couple of years, Sihanoukville has been through many changes, infrastructure development. In addition to the recently-completed 34-road project, the government has just allocated another US$100 million for Sihanoukville to renovate 11 more roads. (Read more)

Besides this project, many other infrastructure development projects are being implemented in Sihanoukville such as the PP-SHV expressway, deep seaport, international airport, wastewater treatment plants, landfills, among other projects. (Read more)
