Gov’t to Build New NR Connecting Road Koh Thom & Leuk Dek Districts in Kandal

The Cambodian government plans to build a new NR23 that connects Koh Thom district and Leuk Dek district in Kandal province, to shorten the distance between the two districts without crossing into Phnom Penh.

Speaking at a press conference at the Government Spokesperson’s Unit on 27 October, Minister of Public Works and Transport HE Sun Chanthol said the team has already completed the study for this project and is now waiting for the construction bid.

“NR23 will facilitate the movement of people without having to travel through Phnom Penh and through NR1,” he said.

However, he did not provide details on the estimated cost and project timeline.
