Gov’t Temporarily Opens Two More Underpasses at Chom Chao

The government has temporarily opened traffic at two more underpasses at the Chom Chao roundabout construction area to help ease traffic.

The announcement was made by Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen during the official opening ceremony of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport Headquarters on 22 January. (Read more)

“In October, I opened one underpass there. Now, I will open two more. One is 204 metres long, and 5 metres wide, connecting from NR4 to NR3,” he said.

“The second one is 558 metres long and 8.50 metres wide, connecting from NR4 to Chom Chao area. Therefore, I would like to ask HE Khuong Sreng to make this effective from now,” he added.

Last October, the Phnom Penh Municipal Administration temporarily opened one route at the under-construction Chom Chao Flyover for traffic, also to help ease traffic congestion in the area. (Read more)

As of September, the construction was 55% complete and is scheduled for completion this year. (Read more)
