In 2024, Cambodia registered nearly 8,000 hectares of state-owned private land in four main locations

The significant development in land management in Cambodia in 2024 by the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction has completed the registration of 4 state-owned private land sites totalling 7,725.30 hectares.

The specific areas recognized include Romdos Sre commune in Choam Ksan district, Preah Vihear province, with an area of 892.19 hectares; Rayor commune in Mondulkiri province, covering 4,806.42 hectares; Soksan commune, also in Koh Nhek district, accounting for 1,181.58 hectares; and Kbal Damrey commune in O’Kreang district, Kratie province, which measures 845.11 hectares.

To Date, the Gov’t has registered 15 state-owned private land sites, amounting to 17,364.43 hectares, and declared 16 social land concessions to benefit the community.

Regarding Indigenous community land registration, the Ministry has made noteworthy progress. It has completed work in 15 target villages, with 7 villages currently engaged in the community land registration process. These villages are categorized into two groups: the first group includes 5 villages in Ratanakkiri and Kratie provinces, while the second group comprises 2 villages in Ratanakkiri and Mondulkiri provinces, as well as Kiribati Krom village and Tonsong village in Stung Treng province, and Koh Khmer village in Kratie province.

Furthermore, since the commencement of the program in 2024, the state has allocated 1,356,857.14 hectares of social land concessions to 487,574 families, resulting in the construction of homes for a total of 8,141 individuals.

The Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction aims to build on these achievements in 2025, continuing its commitment to effective land management and social development in Cambodia.
