Kandal Authority Closes Three Illegal Sand Excavation & Transport Businesses; Raid Ongoing

Kandal provincial authorities have shut down three sand excavation and transportation businesses in Kandal Stueng district for operating without licenses, not paying royalties, and a lack of technical standards.

The closure of businesses was done during the raid led by Kandal Deputy Governor HE Nop Dara on Wednesday 10 November.

The first business is located in Tros village of Trea commune which operated a business without a license. Meanwhile, the other two, whose licenses were suspended due to failure to pay royalties and follow the technical standards, are located in Thmey village and Kraing Tey village in Thmey commune.

HE Nop Dara said that the working group will continue to regularly inspect the business sites to strengthen management and reduce risks that affect the environment and livelihoods of citizens.
