Ground was broken on 8.8 hectares Win-Win Memorial in Koh Kong

Ground was broken the 8.8-hectare Win-Win Memorial in Koh Kong province to commemorate to Cambodian soldiers who lost their lives during the war.

According to the official website of the Koh Kong Provincial Administration on 30 May 2020, the memorial is located opposite Grandmother Mao Shrine, Boeng Khoun Chang village, Smach Mean Chey district, Krong Khemara Phoumin City along National Road 48.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense, Samdech Pichey Sena Tea Banh said that the Win-Win Memorial is to be 43 meters high and built on a four-dimensional plan 66 meters high with a spacious courtyard for parking and citizens’ recreation.

“We are living in a peaceful and free country, so we can never forget our brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect our territory. Therefore, the Royal Government decided to build a Win-Win Memorial to commemorate those soldiers. The memorial site also plays an important factor in tourism to attract national and international visitors,” he said.

On 18 May 2020, Samdech Pichey Sena Tea Banh explained that the memorial is being built under the support of many charities.
